FEBRUARY 11, 2009 Contagious Equine Metritis (CEM)
With the recent news of Nanning 374, among other US stallions, testing positive for Contagious Equine Metritis (CEM) we have the following news for you from the Canadian stand point.
As required the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is investigating all farms that semen from Nanning 374 was shipped to and the horses that were inseminated with Nanning 374. They have also made several changes to policy that might affect your future semen purchases from the United States. Please have a look over the CFIA website regarding this disease (which is treatable) and the actions the government is taking. For more information:
