The Ontario Friesian Horse Association is pleased to host the upcoming AGM in 2010. The warm hospitality of the members of the Ontario Chapter will more than compensate Ontario's typical February temperatures. The OFHA is planning a full schedule of meetings and activities to keep you occupied from Friday morning to Saturday evening. Informational meetings, local tours, socializing time, entertainment and more, round out the planned agenda. For your comfort, FHANA will be using the Hilton Hotel in downtown London as the base for the meetings and majority of the meals. If you prefer not to depend on a rental vehicle due to the potential of inclement weather, not a problem, OFHA can advise you how best to use public transportation to and from London. Once in London at the Hilton, the host will take care of the rest. Transportation to the area tours will be provided through use of a school bus. All you need to do is call the FHANA office to register, or do it on this website by clicking here. The registration fee of $75.00 will cover all your daytime costs, and the Awards Dinner. This is possible due to the generous support of numerous sponsors. If you wish to attend just the Awards Dinner the fee is $50.00.
FHANA would advise you to reserve your room at the Hilton London Ontario and use the code Friesian Horse Association of North America to receive the discount for any one of the rooms, which we have reserved on your behalf up to a given date (Feb. 10, 2010). Next, it would be advisable to make your travel plans. You have options. Air travel to Detroit or Toronto is feasible. Reliable ground transportation is also available from these airports to London leaving every 20 minutes. It is also possible to fly directly to London from certain destinations and take a 15 minute cab ride to the Hilton.
Be sure to check out the remainder of this website for more information, or if you require any help in planning your February getaway to sunny southern Ontario just call 519-933-6119 (Jack Vanderkooy). The comfort
and enjoyment of all FHANA members is important to us. To our U.S. friends, remember your greenback has more buying power than our loonie, in other words, your holiday with your Friesian friends comes with a built in discount. The city of London, as local lore would have it, is situated dead centre within a snow belt. Our guests may very well experience the beauty of ample fresh fallen snow. On the other hand, keeping in mind that London's latitude is similar to that of the northern border of California, you may just as well experience "an Indian summer". What ever the case may be, your OFHA hosts will be ready to roll out the red carpet just for you!
